Show Some Historic House Love on National Selfie Day

Today’s date – June 21, 2018 – really only meant the summer solstice to me before I idly clicked on Twitter this morning. It is also apparently National Selfie Day – you know, taking a picture of yourself with a cell phone camera, usually (for me) with the result of my forehead dominating the resulting image and my eyes crossed.

But I wondered – would historic house fans be interested in taking a selfie with a favorite historic building on this proclaimed selfie day? If this appeals to you, send your images to me at gardens2gables@gmail.com and I will share some of them on this blog and on Facebook. Along with your selfie, include some information about the building or site included in your selfie. I would love to see what folks cherish and value – and what you can fit in the frame of your camera phone!

Hello, My great grandfather Wheeler Gentry owned the Parker house and I spent
summers there until 1952, after my aunt pasted away, Elizabeth Hackworth, I
tried to find funds to keep and restore the house but could not find help, the house had great historical value.
